Coins pay for the occasional frivolity, but the friendships are more fulfilling. I've made friends throughout my working career and keep in touch with a few, but during my short writing history, I've made twice as many friends - people who have never met me have invited me to visit (and I have). It's amazing. I'll give you a shout when I'm up in BC and you should do the same when you're passing by Anacortes.
