Here I sit in my office in a wonderfully comfortable office chair reading about torturous chairs. Quite a juxtaposition (or should I say adjust-a-position). Restaurants use durable and resilient benches and chairs so people don't stay too long. The industry thrives on customer turnover (max $/hour). I had a couch in college that was just like the Mexico Torture Chair which you'd think was bad but actually worked well when a date would come over and ultimately ask if I had anything more comfortable, which of course I did - in my room. :)
Great article, Rodrigo. Thanks.
