I have friends who bought a snowbird retirement place in Lagos and they say if I'm nice to them they'll let me come and visit them in the winter. I'll try. Maybe I'll see you there.

I spend a lot of time in Mexico in the winters - almost every winter. Personally I feel like there are plenty of places that are safe and enjoyable. It's my go-to country. Inexpensive, easy to get to, great beaches, good people, lots more. It checks most of my boxes.
