I've not known the commission process from the artist's side - very interesting indeed, Rodrigo. We recently commissioned an abstract waxes and oils on canvas piece for over our fireplace and it's in process now. The artist came to our home at sunset and drank in the colors and we hope it will meet our expectations. We gave her full creative control (other than size and general color guidance). It's taking her several months and what we're paying her can't possibly cover her hours. Still, it's a direct commission, not through a studio so she doesn't have to share the income.

From the buyer side, it's very exciting... like Christmas.
