Joyce, this is extremely well thought out and eloquently presented. Thank you for writing it. I can't argue with any of it. I do feel, however that there will be some positive elements that come from AI. Consider how AI is currently inventing personalized medications that can offer individualized relief from illnesses that are a much safer and better approach than the one size fits all approach. Think of education in that context and how each child is different from another and how a personalized teaching approach could be supported by an AI assistant. So long as the teacher has some control over the engine that creates the study plan it could be a game changer.

Just one possibility.

Like you pointed out, the progression of technology has changed what we expect from students and what they expect from us. This technology too, will have good and bad effects.
