Thanks Stan, for pointing out rightfully that the gay and lesbian communities have fought for and realized significant freedoms over the years. I'd argue that there is still plenty of room for improvement, but taking a moment to recognize progress is healthy and reassuring.

Separately: I recognize that a message about the state of the LGBTQ+ community coming from a straight man may be considered awkward and insensitive by those within the community. I did so with an open heart and a goal of spreading awareness to those outside of the community who may not be exposed so readily to messages from within.
