I know that in the US (and likely most other developed countries), we have an insurance plan called "Long Term Care" that will cover in-facility hospice (and more). As you noted, it's expensive. I also know the often contain a rider that says they won't kick in until after 20 or 30 days. Given the median stay is only 18 days, those policies won't pay out for over half the people. But yes, there is insurance.

I hope you won't need hospice for a very long time, Wuli. Don't sign up just yet. ;)
